I passed all three CSET mathematics tests for teacher certification in California: Subtest 1: Algebra and Number Theory Subtest 2: Geometry and Probability Subtest 3: Trigonometry, Calculus and History of Math My work experience is extensive. I have taught SAT preparation classes since 2001. I have always excelled at SAT-type questions: As a high school junior my scores were 99th percentile in math and 93rd percentile in verbal. (The writing section did not exist at the time, but I achieved the 99th percentile on the more demanding GRE writing section.) Since then, I have significantly strengthened my analytical reading and writing skills by regularly studying grammar, style, and word usage (I have a great library to share). I have taken dozens of practice SAT exams over the years, scoring near-perfect scores every time. I am confident in my ability to explain the concepts required for achieving your goals. I have a strong grasp of the tricks and tactics necessary for managing one’s time while taking this lengthy and stressful test, and I know useful strategies for narrowing down the answers for difficult questions so that students rarely need to resort to random guessing. Though I have never taken an official ACT exam, I routinely complete ACT exams from The Real ACT book (actual ACT exams) with perfect or near-perfect scores. I have experience tutoring for the more difficult SAT IIC subject test in mathematics (my own score was 780). I have also tutored for the GMAT and GRE exams.
